It’s the moments that make up a life worth living – those that are easy to spot, and those that must be sought after.
I catch myself remembering the cool mist coming off Abrams Falls, in the Smoky Mountains this spring, after a long hike. The relief that the mist brought, as it landed on my sweaty arms and face.
Those are the easy moments to remember – so rare and obvious at times.
But it’s the moments we sometimes have to look for, during the course of an ordinary day – the moments we have to search for sometimes, even though they’re filled with meaning, that bring us to the point where a place like the Smoky Mountains has any meaning at all.
“If you have the opportunity to play this game of life you need to appreciate every moment. a lot of people don’t appreciate the moment until it’s passed.” – Kanye West
Where will we find those ordinary moments with meaning this week? They are there for the taking!
And perhaps it’s these ordinary moments of significance that we’ll think about part of the time on those days when the cooling mist from a waterfall lands gently on our arms and face.
Here’s to a week filled with moments of meaning!
